Removing refund policy from footer

Topic summary

Issue: The storefront’s footer still shows a “Refund policy” item even after deleting menu entries and related HTML.

Recent actions:

  • The original poster deleted HTML but the footer item persists; shared an admin themes URL and a screenshot.
  • Helpers requested a public URL (and password, since the store is password protected) to inspect the live footer.

Suggestions provided:

  • Check Shopify policy template settings (described as Settings >> notification >> Refund policy) and remove any HTML content or the template if present.
  • Inspect the theme’s footer.liquid (the Liquid template file that renders the footer) and specifically the copyright section, which may be injecting the “Refund policy” content.

Technical notes:

  • footer.liquid is a Shopify theme file controlling footer output; changes there affect persistent footer elements.
  • A password-protected store requires sharing the password to view the live site.
  • The screenshot is central, indicating the policy item may be part of the footer’s copyright block.

Status: Unresolved. Next steps include checking footer.liquid/copyright section, reviewing policy template settings, and sharing a public storefront URL/password for further troubleshooting.

@jusitn2 Can you send me the URL to this page?

Hi Jusitn2,
Can you please share URL and can show where you want to remove it?
meanwhile, you should check Shopify policy template
settings >> notification >> Refund policy delete the html content from there or if any template is there then remove that template.

Hi Jusitn2,
your Store is password protected can you share the password?
But According to your screenshot, it looks like the content is coming from the copyright section which would be present in footer. Liquid section.
you should onec check in footer.liquid section.

if not solved then please contact me for free consultant.
