Is there a way to see if an image on the site is actually in use? I’ve got a site with multiple versions of the same image and I want to easily remove the ones that aren’t in use. How do I find out which image files are being used and which aren’t?
Here’s an example: 3 images in the files. Only 1 is in use so I want to delete the other 2 - how can I tell which one is in use?
You can see name/path of the image by inspecting image from frontend and compare that name/path with this name.
And remove those image which are not in use.
Lucky that u know the images to be deleted, once u select them, u can see the delete option/button floating below side. Hope this might help someone still looking out for the option.
Did someone already find a solution or app for this? We would like to see what images aren’t used in the live theme so we can delete them (preferably in bulk). Thanks!
Actually, this is only true if images are used on product pages. If it is in the blog or other pages there is still the dash even if they are in use.. So be careful.
Great, and how do I select all the images with a dash? Or how do I filter them out? I can’t find this anywhere. I don’t want to go through 10.000 pictures by hand.
Be careful about referenced column if image is being used in Online store it is still being shown as an unreferenced so you will lose the image on your storefront if you will simply remove this by thinking it is not being used anywhere. This feature currently works correctly only for products
