Disclosure: I’m a DTC founder/operator (yourcapy) and also the creator of Alfred Commerce, a Shopify partner business.
While there are naturally a long list of available options, I’m honest and transparent about which Shopify stores Alfred Purchase Orders may actually be a great fit for. Alfred may be a good fit for you and your store if:
- You’re looking for a feature rich, easy-to-use, and cohesive purchase order & inventory platform. Including forecasting, smart PO plans → reorder quantities OR manually defined PO quantities assisted by inventory/sales data, add products searching by name/variant/sku/barcode, issue reporting + credit memos, receiving POs directly into Shopify inventory, transferring between locations, stocktakes, supplier management, and low inventory alerts).
- You’re not in need of a full ERP or WMS, and all your sales/inventory data live in Shopify. Alfred is a Shopify embedded app and does not currently integrate with external sales channels.
- You’re ordering and re-selling finished goods. Alfred does not currently support materials tracking, etc.
- Have fewer than 30k product variants
- Your budget is up to $99 USD /mo . Plans range from $29-$99 depending on revenue and variant count). We try our best to offer a truly robust, comprehensive, dependable platform for a reasonable subscription fee.
Alfred was born out of a personal need for our own DTC brand, Capy, which was in that awkward stage between fledgling DTC business and $1M+ revenue brand where spreadsheets weren’t cutting it anymore but I knew it didn’t make financial sense to be paying $100s /mo for some of the well-established platforms like Cin7, Katana, Prediko, GoodDay etc. I also personally couldn’t trust the $20/mo apps built with thinly built features by developers who’ve never actually experienced a purchase cycle.
Alfred isn’t the the best match for everyone, but for a material cohort of operators looking for a Stocky offramp, I truly believe it’s a better fit than the enterprise-level alternatives and will scale with you much better than the cheapest apps on the app store. FWIW, A couple of our most active shops/users went through a sales cycle with GoodDay before deciding to go with Alfred.
Whatever you go with, good luck with migration! T-29 days.
