Replicate Timesact function with Flow

Topic summary

Goal: Replace Timesact with Shopify Flow to automate out-of-stock (OOS) handling. Requested functions: add an “OOS” label to items with no inventory at time of sale, and perform a weekly check to notify the team if stock is replenished while related order items remain unfulfilled.

Feasibility: A respondent says this should be doable in Flow (Shopify’s automation tool) but asks about expected volume of OOS products to gauge weekly looping/processing load.

Clarification: The requester can’t estimate OOS volume due to limited access to order data. Key requirement is to check one week after purchase whether the order is still unfulfilled.

Status: No implementation details or final approach provided. Open questions include the scale of OOS items to monitor and specifics of the weekly check. Discussion remains open with no confirmed solution or actions yet.

I recently removed Timesact from my store. Is there a way to use Flow to replicate what timesact does? Basically,

add an “OOS” label to items that have not inventory at the time of sale. Possibly have it then check every week and send a notification to us if the stock is back in stock, but the order item/s are still unfulfilled? Thanks

Not too familiar with timesact but what you described should be doable. Roughly how many products ballpark will be OOS at a time that it will have to be looping over every week to check?

Thanks for your reply! Can’t say for sure, I’m the dev and don’t have access to order information. i just need it to only check that if the order is still unfulfillled after a week
