Report on popular product type combinations

We have a few different product types and I’m looking to find out what our most popular combinations of product types are.

For example, we sell mugs, tote bags and notebooks. What I want to know is how many times these are bought together, e.g.

Mug + Mug + Tote Bag
Mug + Mug

Mug + Mug + Mug

Tote Bag + Notebook

Etc

Shopify analytics can’t give me this data (we’re on a legacy Shopify plan, above Basic but below Advanced and Plus), so I’ve installed a couple of reporting apps. Currently trying out Data Export IO but still can’t get the data I’m looking for.

Anyone know a way of finding this out?

As there are no out-of-the-box solutions like that you always can set up the export to Google Data Studio and then do all the logic there.

Hi @stuaw,

wonder if you find the tool you were looking for. If not, then maybe apusnest.com may be something interesting for you.
It performs Market Basket Analysis (generating association rules and some useful data around it) based on frequent product combinations. It also offers Freemium experience which is getting 3 top combinations and you can unlock rest only if the initial results are compelling for you. It’s not Shopify’s app yet (work in progress) but it works well with CSV file exported from Shopify.
