After several chats to Shopify support, I’m at loss. It seems like such a basic need for businesses to see which products their customers are actually purchasing.
According to Shopify: "What you will be able to see is the customers’ name and email address as well as the date of their first order, number of orders they’ve placed, value of the orders, but it does not show the name of the products they purchased."
We want a report that shows individual products purchased, at the individual customer level, to help with targeted marketing efforts to encourage customers to try other candle scents. Ideally this report would show other fields like customer name, physical address, and e-mail address.
They recommend Easy Reports as a 3rd party app to get this info. We were prepared to upgrade from Shopify Basic to Shopify for this need, but it doesn’t seem like that would do the trick. Does anyone have any recommendation for us?
If you upgrade to Shopify you should have access to the Sales reports. They are somewhat limited, but see below from my dev store - I think you can get what you want.

Would a report like the below screenshot work for you - the columns are the total number of individual items sold to customers over their lifetime orders.
