I am looking for a way to pull units sold and stock on hand per location in one report - Shopify splits them in two and If you create a custom report in a 3rd party app you end up with a sales report with soh but it wont show you soh if there werent any sales for the perod
Has anyone found any solutions as this feels like a pretty basic report
Shopify doesn’t provide this combined view out of the box. You’ll need to either export inventory and sales reports and merge them manually, or use a reporting app that can show stock on hand and units sold together.
Shopify doesn’t have a single built-in report that shows stock on hand alongside units sold — those live in separate report categories (Inventory vs. Sales). What I do is export both “Inventory snapshot” and “Sales by product” for the same period, then combine them in a spreadsheet using SKU as the join key.
If you’re on Shopify plan or higher, the custom report builder gets you closer but still won’t merge inventory and sales into one view. Spreadsheet route is honestly the most reliable way to get that combined picture.
It sounds like you might be after an inventory by location report, I’ve added some docs with the available fields. You could also include orders/line items to see a side by side comparison.
