Request for Immediate Governance Review of Partner Harassment and App Delisting

:waving_hand: Dear Shopify Team

I am writing to request an immediate and impartial review of the circumstances surrounding the delisting of my app and the ongoing conduct of another Shopify Partner.

My app appears to have suffered serious consequences following a single Shopify Community post:

To my knowledge, no formal complaint was registered against me before my app was delisted and placed under review. I respectfully request clarification regarding the evidence and process used to make this decision, as the delisting has caused significant damage to my business, reputation, and merchant relationships.

Unfortunately, this is not the first time I have experienced this type of situation. After launching Zon Staff Tracking for Shopify POS, members of the EasyTeam for Point of Sale repeatedly accused us of intellectual property infringement and threatened to have our app removed.

These actions included:

  1. Contacting our developers and threatening to have the app removed
  2. Repeatedly entering our app’s live chat to issue threats
  3. Sending threatening emails and direct messages
  4. Demanding a penalty payment of $25,000

Taking actions(bad reviews) that negatively affected my app’s visibility, search performance, and business reputation

I previously submitted multiple complaints about this matter to Shopify Governance and provided supporting evidence, including Slack messages, emails, and live chat conversations. However, no effective action was taken, and the threats continued for approximately seven months.

I have now submitted the case again with complete details and supporting evidence. Shopify should apply the same standard to EasyTeam that was applied to my Zon Square app: temporarily delist the app while conducting a fair and thorough review of the case.

I believe this conduct may conflict with several provisions of the Shopify Partner Program Agreement, including:

  • Section A.2.1.4, regarding false, misleading, disparaging, aggressive, or harmful practices
  • Section A.2.2, requiring Partners to comply with applicable laws and maintain high industry standards
  • Shopify’s Acceptable Use Policy, requiring users to act in good faith and prohibiting malicious conduct
  • Section A.4.1, allowing Shopify to take action against fraudulent or otherwise unacceptable Partner behavior

 I respectfully request that Shopify Governance:

  • Conduct a fair and independent review of my app’s delisting.
  • Review all evidence previously submitted regarding the threats and conduct of the partner involved.
  • Confirm whether any verified merchant or legal complaints were filed against my app.
  • Investigate whether the Shopify Community post or competitor activity improperly influenced the decision.
  • Take appropriate action if violations of Shopify’s Partner policies are confirmed.
  • Reinstate my app while the case is reviewed, particularly if no verified policy violation has been established.
  • I am fully prepared to cooperate and provide all relevant documentation. I only ask that this matter be assessed fairly, based on verified evidence rather than unproven public allegations or competitor pressure.

Thank you for your attention to this serious matter. I look forward to receiving a detailed response and a fair resolution.

Best regards,
Zeeshan Haider

Hi @Zeeshan6236

I would agree with Liam

This is not the place for a few reasons. We can not help; we can not judge, your side, their side. You have to discuss with Shopify directly. And they do not look this community forum. Shopify Governance will not read your post.

You got threatened with a lawyer and your response should be: “OK we will see you in court, and our lawyer will communicate with you from now on, and we will sue for defamation”

Good luck and hope you find resolution.

Hi @Shopify, after reviewing the evidence provided in this Google Doc, I respectfully request that Shopify take appropriate action against EasyTeam. The documented conduct appears to violate multiple provisions of the Shopify Partner Program Agreement and deserves a fair, thorough, and independent investigation.

I have followed Zeeshan’s work for some time and believe he deserves a fair and transparent review based on verified evidence rather than public allegations or competitor claims. Delisting an app can have a major impact on a developer’s business, reputation, and merchant trust, so it’s important that due process is followed.

If the evidence he has submitted demonstrates repeated intimidation or anti-competitive behavior, I hope Shopify investigates it thoroughly and applies its Partner policies consistently to everyone involved. Consistent enforcement is essential to maintaining trust in the Shopify ecosystem.

I sincerely hope Shopify Governance reviews this case impartially, considers all of the documentation provided, and reaches a decision based solely on facts and established policy.

Surprising to see that this matter is still pending resolution. Hopefully, Shopify will address this promptly with an evidence-based evaluation to ensure a fair outcome for everyone.

I hope Shopify Governance reviews this case fairly and based on verified evidence rather than public allegations or competitor pressure.

Delisting an app can have a major impact on a developer’s business, merchants, and reputation. If a Partner believes their app has violated a policy, there should be a transparent review process where the developer has an opportunity to understand the specific concerns and respond before severe action is taken, whenever appropriate.

At the same time, if there are allegations that another Partner engaged in threats, harassment, or other conduct that may violate the Shopify Partner Program Agreement, those claims also deserve an impartial investigation based on the evidence submitted.

The goal should be consistency. Every Partner, regardless of size or reputation, should be held to the same standards and receive the same fair process.

I hope Shopify carefully reviews all documentation, communicates its findings clearly, and reaches a decision based solely on verified facts and its published policies. A transparent and consistent process benefits developers, merchants, and the Shopify ecosystem as a whole.

Fairness and due process are essential for every developer building in the Shopify ecosystem.

I stand with Zeeshan Haider in requesting a transparent and impartial review of his case. Building a Shopify app requires months—often years—of hard work, and any decision that impacts a business should be based on verified evidence, a clear review process, and an opportunity for the developer to respond.

Healthy competition drives innovation. Public allegations, competitor pressure, or unverified claims should never replace a fair investigation.

I hope Shopify Governance carefully reviews:

  • The complete evidence submitted by all parties.

  • Whether established review procedures were followed.

  • Whether the decision was based on verified policy violations.

  • Whether all partners are being held to the same standards.

Every Shopify Partner deserves equal treatment, transparency, and the opportunity to address concerns before facing actions that can significantly impact their business.

Wishing Zeeshan a fair review and a timely resolution. A strong developer ecosystem depends on trust, consistency, and fairness for everyone.

After reading this Google Doc, I noticed what appears to be a clear violation of the Shopify Partner Program Agreement. If the app developer has reported these issues multiple times, I don’t understand why the Shopify Governance team has not taken action.

If the documented evidence is accurate, it appears to include harassment and threats toward other Shopify Partners, which would be a serious violation of Shopify’s policies. I believe the Governance team should carefully review the evidence and, if the violations are confirmed, take appropriate action in accordance with Shopify’s Partner Program rules.

I hope Shopify investigates this matter thoroughly and enforces its policies consistently.

Hi @Zeeshan6236

Our Merchant Community is really meant fro peer-to-peer discussions around growing your business, so we’re not able to dig into or comment on concerns about specific apps here. The app review team doesn’t monitor this forum, so this isn’t the best place to get traction on it.

For this one, you’ll want to keep working with Shopify Support directly. I’m closing this thread.
