Hi There,
Sorry if missing something basic, but the new Analytics on Desktop seems to only give us a limited Mobile version but larger - is that right? Over the past year, really useful stuff keeps getting removed.
Some examples…
1. Comparison amounts
We now only see percentages when making comparisons, instead of the actual amounts. This makes comparisons infinitely less useful because you have to drill into a report to see the data - more clicks.
2. Conversion rate comparisons
Another example is the ‘fancy’ new conversion rate graph which doesn’t show a comparison at all? In fact, it took nine extra clicks to get a percentage comparison because…
- You have to click into the report
- But going into the report removes the date range
- So you have to manually click to choose the date range - in this case the financial YTD. BTW Why you guys don’t allow each business to save a financial year date range I’ll never know - we are all in business here! That alone would remove seven clicks (when in January) EVERY TIME we need to look at YTD data - which is all the time!
- But to set a comparison, it’s worse because you first have to click ‘No comparison’ - why?
- Then click ‘Comparison’ again
- Then you’re finally able to click ‘Previous Year’
But even after all that, the chart still doesn’t show the percentage difference! You have to look at the table?
Do staff making these decisions run Ecom businesses themselves? And if so, are they successful Ecom businesses! Data is everything - how can the Analytics team not understand this? It’s truly bizarre so sorry if we’re missing a button somewhere.
To be clear, the Desktop version should always take advantage of the Desktop context - not deliver a limited and more painful mobile experience - right?
Super useful, top-line data and comparison amounts used to display on the dashboard home page, not in a multi-step report. Why are we now hiding this stuff under layers of clicks and loads?
Really sorry if we’re missing something basic here!
Cheers, Ben
