Hello, I am sending a request for Shopify Payments Invoice which are curently visible under “settings-payments-manage-view payouts-tax forms” to be sent each month to email address, same like for shopify billing. As login to shopify, then search for those documents…I mean for such and important document…it is absurd to make all these steps to get it and you can easily forget to download it and present to the accountant once in a month.
Yeah that flow is genuinely clunky right now. The billing invoices get emailed automatically but the payout and tax documents under Payments settings don’t have a scheduled delivery option, so you’re stuck logging in and remembering to grab them.
A couple of things make it less painful while that’s not built. Your accountant usually doesn’t need the formatted tax document to reconcile, the monthly payout figures are all in the Payouts export as CSV which you can pull on a set day each month, so the numbers reach them without the manual hunt. For the actual tax form itself there’s no email option today, so an honest workaround is a recurring reminder on the first of the month until Shopify ships delivery.
Is it the formatted tax document your accountant specifically wants, or just the monthly totals? If it’s the totals, the payouts export already gets you there.
It is the formatted tax document that is needed, the same you offer in settings option, usually in .pdf files with all the company details, as it is normally these days. It is time taking to reach those files in settings and since it is very important document, just consider how you can make this to be sent out automatically. Thank you.
I agree that it will be convenient if Shopify Payments invoices can be sent out automatically via email, just like Shopify billing invoices.
Currently, there isn’t any provision within Shopify where such invoices can be automatically emailed. You have to manually download the same from Settings → Payments → Manage → View payouts → Tax forms.
I’d recommend submitting this as a feature request to Shopify, as it would save merchants time and help ensure important accounting documents aren’t missed.
I think this would be valuable improvement for merchants who rely on Shopify Payments for their accounting.
Currently, Shopify billing invoices can be emailed automatically, but Shopify Payments invoices still require merchants to log in, navigate to Setting → Payments → Manage → view payouts → Tax forms, and download them manually each month. It’s an easy step to overlook, especially when those documents are needed by an accountant on a regular basis.
Having an option to automatically email Shopify Payments invoices (or tax documents) to one or more designated email addresses each month would save time, reduct the risk of missed documents, and make bookkeeping much more efficient. I can see this being especially useful for businesses that work with external accountants or bookkeepers.
Hopefully, the Shopify team will consider adding this as a future enhancement.

Navigating deep into the admin menu every month just to retrieve tax forms and payout documents for your accountant is definitely an inconvenient workflow, especially compared to automated subscription billing emails.
Currently, Shopify does not offer an automated email delivery feature for Shopify Payments tax documents or payout invoices; they can only be retrieved manually through the admin dashboard.
From a technical standpoint, the most efficient way to automate this process and eliminate manual downloads is to connect an accounting integration app. These apps use Shopify’s API to automatically pull payout breakdowns, tax data, and processing fees directly into your accounting system on a recurring schedule.
If you prefer sticking to raw PDFs/documents, I’d strongly recommend submitting this as feature feedback directly to Shopify Support, so their product team can prioritize adding automated email reports for payment documents.
