Requesting approval for instagram shopping error message

Hi there,

We’ve set up our Facebook shopping and now trying to do the same with instagram shopping. However, when I click the “Request approval” link it keeps giving me a message "something went wrong, please try again later’??

I’ve tried over the last 2 days but its still the same?

Any help or pointers to why this may be happening would be much appreciated!

Since this has been happening for some time now, I will suggest reaching out to Shopify 24/7 Support team on this Link to create a ticket as this will give them access to your store to investigate further on this.

This can also be happening due to a copy of reasons;

Your Instagram is a Business account

Your Instagram account is linked to our Facebook Business page.

The Request Approval is something that you’re clicking on Shopify’s end? Could you please send a screenshot of what this looks like for you when the error comes up?

Sometimes issues like this can be resolved via local troubleshooting steps, so I have some suggestions that you can try below to rule this out:

  • Clear your Google Chrome browser cache and cookies by following these steps here and try to request approval again.
  • Attempt this on an alternative device i.e. if you’re trying this on mobile, give it a go on desktop,
  • Reset your internet - network errors can sometimes lead to similar issues.

I understand that issues like this can be inconvenient for you and your business - but besides this, how are you getting on with Shopify so far? I would love to hear a little more about your store and products to see if I can be of any more help here.

Thank you for your response. we have tried all your suggestions but now we are just getting a ‘something went wrong’ message? Do you have any other suggestions to how we can get this sorted? thanks

yes
you need to disconnect the facebook app
and reconnect it then try the instgram one again.
