Hi,
I’m sure this must be a common issue but I can’t find a definitive answer.
I’m a UK based Ltd company and have set up Shopify to use Zendrop for drop shipping to UK customers. I am VAT registered so customers pay VAT at the point of sale rather than have their order stopped at customs.
The issue I am struggling with is Zendrop seem to insist on listing the customer as the importer and not my company, and there looks to be no way to state “UK VAT Paid” and my VAT number on the Zendrop shipping so that the courier can see it and declare this to UK customs.
My orders are below the £135 threshold so collecting VAT during purchase should mean goods not stopped at the UK boarder but what is the best way, when using Zendrop, to ensure the courier and hence UK customes know.
I know Zendrop doesn’t support using DPP couriers only and won’t get involved with UK VAT, but there must be a way to display I have taken UK VAT payment on the package so courier and customs sees it.
This must be a common issue so any points much appreciated!
