Hi, I need to find a way or an app that can restrict other states in Australia from purchasing some collections in my store as they are prohibited in most states except for mine however other than a few collections I do have many items in my store that are legal to send to these states. Any help would be much appreciated.

If you prefer not to use an app, you can manually restrict purchases from certain states within Australia by setting up shipping zones in Shopify.
Hereās are the steps how you can do it.

Log in to your Shopify account and go to Settings > Shipping and delivery

Click on āManage ratesā next to the shipping profile you want to edit

Click on āAdd rateā and select āBased on destinationā

Choose āAustraliaā as the country, and then click on āEditā next to āRest of Australiaā

Click on āAdd regionsā and select the states that you want to restrict from purchasing certain collections

For each state, click on āAdd productsā and select the collections that you want to restrict from purchasing

Set the rate to $0 for the restricted collections, and set a different rate for the collections that can be shipped to all states

Click on āSaveā to update the shipping rate
Keep in mind that this method is not foolproof and customers may still be able to find ways to purchase restricted products. Therefore, itās important to also include clear information on your website about which products are restricted and where they can be shipped, and to also have customers confirm their location at checkout.
As I am not familiar with any Shopify apps that may be helpful to you to achieve your requirement, I advise you to search for shipping-related apps in the Shopify app store and choose the suitable app.

If you want to explore more options, check out the PH MultiCarrier Shipping Label app. The app allows you to set up Shipping Classes/ Profiles and then Shipping Zones based on country, state and postcodes. Next, you can create a shipping condition based on the product category and shipping zones to restrict the shipping of certain products in certain states.

Hi @Lahnih If you are still looking for a solution to this, you can try using the Chekout Gurdian App, that restricts purchases based on a certian location, that means you can restrict customer from ordering from a particular region of Australia. Rest they can order the remaning products accoridngly.
