Reused value [id] Error on Google Merchant Center

I am currently experiencing an issue with my products on Google Merchant Center where I am receiving the error “Reused value [id]”. I am using Shopify as my e-commerce platform and I am trying to figure out how to fix this.

The problem is that the product IDs for some of my products are not unique, and I need to update them to ensure that they are unique. I have tried to update the product IDs in my Shopify store, but I am not sure I am doing it correctly.

I am looking for some guidance on how to update the product IDs in my Shopify store so that they are unique, and then re-upload my product feed to Google Merchant Center. If anyone has any experience with this issue or can offer any advice, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you for your help!

By default you would have a random ID such as shopify_US_123456789_123456789

You can check if that is the case by going to Google Merchant Center > Products > all products

Here you can see the id’s used.

It would be very hard to re-use these id’s unless you have setup multiple feeds that are sending the same product info.

However if you are using your SKU values as your IDs yes, you need to have unique values. Simply update all your products to have unique SKU values.

@EmmanuelFlossie Thanks for the help, I was able to figure it out. I had to duplicate the product and delete the old one. I’m not sure what was causing the original issue, probably an error but once I duplicated it, it gave the new product a unique ID. :slightly_smiling_face:
