Hi all
I have signed up for a 1 year Shopify basic plan ( payment paid upfront ) and 2 months in, i have decided to pause and build.
My question is how do i return back to continue my previous paid annual shopify plan?
Because the options i have is to “start selling again” and “pick a plan”
Thank you
Hi there @jittong .
Thanks for posting your question! I’m happy to help you out with this. Are you ready to start selling again now or are you still working on any areas of your shop? We have a great launch checklist here that can help you ensure you’re ready.
When you move from an annual plan to the Pause and Build plan your annual cycle stops and you are issued a prorated credit for the remainder of time on your annual subscription. The Pause and Build subscription fee will be paid for from this credit. If you’d like to return to an annual plan from the Pause and Build plan you will need to select the annual plan again. After doing this a new annual cycle will begin and any remaining credits will be used towards that charge.
Steps to reopen your store after you pause and build:
-
Log in to your store as the store owner.
-
From your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Plan.
-
Click Pick a plan, and then click Choose plan for the plan that you want.
-
Carefully review the plan details, and then click Start plan.
You can also find the steps to update your billing cycle to annual on this page here.
Please let me know if you have any questions!
Hi @Erin_1 ,
I have a similar question. Right now I am paying monthly for the basic plan, but I want to switch to Pause and build for a bit. My monthly payment just went through yesterday, so if I switch to the Pause and build tomorrow, will I be issued a prorated credit for the remainder of time on my monthly subscription?
Thank you!
Katy
Hi, @Katy86 .
Yes, that’s correct! If you were to switch to the Pause and Build plan after already paying for your monthly subscription, you would be issued a prorated credit that will be used to pay for your Pause & Build plan going forward until the credit is fully used. You can follow these steps to switch to the Pause and Build plan. That page also has more information on what features are available or unavailable while on the Pause and Build plan.
Happy to help if you have more questions!
