My dev team submitted our app on March 2nd. We provided a very detailed screenshare walking the reviewer through our test instructions.
Our app was reviewed the first time on April 9th, but the reviewer did not follow our test instructions, testing outside of the explicit test scope and failing our submission marked as defect, even though our code was functioning as outlined in the test instructions and video.
No reviewer has yet to be assigned, but it is now May 12th with no progress.
The team is very excited to be listed on Shopify, but we are currently losing out on millions in revenue.
Is there someone who can take a look at our submission to help this move along?
10 weeks without constructive questions from our reviewer, or assignment of reviewer who has clearly been testing the app is hurting our ability to do business with top Shopify stores who are joining our app launch as mvp clients.
The support team’s help would be greatly appreciated.
Sorry to hear about your situation but quick heads up first though, this is a public community forum, mostly merchants and partners. The App Review team doesn’t actively monitor or action submissions from here, so posting alone won’t move it.
You’ll have a much better shot at getting traction on community.shopify.dev where Shopify staff and dev relations actually engage with app submission issues. Post your situation there with your app handle and a clear timeline (submission date, first review date, defect issue, current status). Reference that the reviewer tested outside your documented scope, that’s a valid escalation reason and the dev relations team can route it to the right reviewer.
Also, inside your Partner Dashboard, reply directly to the original submission ticket (don’t open a new one, that resets your queue position) and explicitly ask for the case to be reassigned to a senior reviewer with reference to your test instructions and the screenshare. Hope it gets sorted soon.
According to recent updates from the developer community and Shopify’s own announcements, there is currently a 30 to 45-day backlog for many submissions.
When your app was rejected on April 9th, it wasn’t just a minor setback the system essentially put you back at the end of the line.
