Reviews from testimonials - how?

Hi there,

I am still setting up my shop and I had get in contact with couple of people which would “test” a few products and take some pics of it.

Idea is to upload those reviews to the page before it is even online yet, with the reason to convince future buyers of the products and to show that my shop is “real” even if its new (and not scam or so).

So i guess, no review possible without a purchase and its also not the idea to add reviews by your own, right

What could be the best way to show their feedback on my page?

I guess later when the shop is online I could give them a 100% discount code for example and then they can write the review afterwards.

Don’t try to conflate testimonials with reviews when starting out , especially by trying to play designer with a stores UI/features.

Just use either an existing text/image section to display the testimonials as text.

Or create one externally that gives you the raw html then use a custom-html or custom-liquid section.

Or create an entire section https://shopify.github.io/liquid-code-examples/example/homepage-quotes

Do not blindly use slideshows for this. Avoid using above the fold slideshows for stuff like this, and if you do always test the pageload performance loss so you understand the impact to bottom lines.

If you are marketing with video get video testimonials and use only 1 or 2 video sections

To cement the testimonials social proof since there’s no “review” to link too, instead try to link the testimonial to an external provable source such as instragram, twitter, etc but don’t design it in such a way that encourages traffic to go offsite.

thank you for the fast feedback and helpful advise. You are right I shouldnt mix up both topics. I will follow-up on those points you have mentioned and may come back in case of more questions. Thanks again.
