Royal Mail Click & Drop: Can Shopify Automatically Send the Postage Service?

Topic summary

A Shopify merchant using Royal Mail’s Click & Drop integration is experiencing a workflow limitation. While Shopify automatically sends order details and weights to Click & Drop, it does not transmit the specific postage service selected by customers (e.g., Royal Mail 24 vs. Royal Mail 48).

Current workaround:
Manually checking and selecting the correct postal service for each order in Click & Drop.

The problem:
This manual process creates risk of shipping orders with incorrect service levels—for example, sending an order via 2nd Class when the customer paid for 1st Class.

Question posed:
Is there a way to configure the integration so Click & Drop automatically receives and applies the customer-selected postage service for each order?

The discussion remains open with no solution provided yet.

Hi All,

We dispatch all our items via Royal Mail and purchase postage through integration with RM’s Click & Drop platform.

Currently, Shopify automatically sends the orders and their weight across to Click & Drop however, it doesn’t send the postal service our customers have chosen (e.g. Royal Mail 24, Royal Mail 48).

Is it possible for Click & Drop to receive the correct postal service, as currently, we’re having to manually check and select the postal service for each order? This isn’t a problem when selecting the same postal service for multiple orders, but we don’t want to post someone’s order using an incorrect service (e.g. they selected 1st Class and we select 2nd Class).

Thanks

Andre
