Running campaigns per country or region?

Any do’s or don’ts and important settings worth noting?

Hello Mike, thank you for another great question.

I have never setup regional campaigns, unless the client specifically wants to target just 1 area.

If the client targets the whole nation, then target the whole country. Then after half a year, exclude areas that don’t perform well, using location exclusions.

As to settings, it depends, there are so many settings.

For example using pmax without assets giving you the same amount of sales and higher ROAS compared to pmax with assets.

I adding assets worth it? Are you getting more sales if you add assets, or just more ad cost.

But if you are targeting multiple countries ensure you localize the language and currency, otherwise you will not get much traction compared to localization.

In all honestly it’s difficult to say important settings considering I apply different settings for different accounts. What works in one account is not the same as another.

The important thing is to step by step read your data.

For example Google just launched channel performance for pmax. Look at the data, and see if demand gen is worth it, or a waste of budget.

If a waste, then remove the ad assets in PMax. This will be different for every merchant.
