Sales Channel app uploading Apple Pay certificate

Hi,

we’re building a sales channel app and wanted to activate Apple Pay for it. We have successfully got it working, by using this guide (see step 3), using a custom Shopify app.

Now we have this app public in the Shopify AppStore and when trying to create an Apple Pay order, we get an error message that Apple Pay was not enabled yet. This is most likely because we did not activate Apple Pay for this sales channel in the store. However, now that we have a public app, we can’t use the guide anymore, as it only states custom apps.

Therefore my question: Is there an API for uploading the Apple Pay certificate generated by Apple? How can public sales channels achieve the activation process?

We had the same struggle with Deep links because they are configured at the same place, however, for this case we found a REST API endpoint.

Hi Ocastx,

From looking into this, it seems that we don’t have an API endpoint to upload Apple certificates. The process of enabling Apple Pay for public sales channels is typically done manually through the Shopify admin as described in the guide.

I’d recommend reaching out to Shopify’s support directly, as they may be able to assist with this process for public sales channel apps.

thanks for the hint!

We reached out to Shopify support, however, they were not yet able to help us in this regard. Unfortunately, it seems to be the case that one has to specifically have access to the store and upload it through a custom app, which seems weird somehow.

Any chance that you could take another look at this? Appreciate it!
