Shopify does not have any customizable Sales reports on the Basic version.

I understand how valuable these reports would be for your business, however, the Shopify Starter/Basic plan does not feature sales reports. You can access different types of reports depending on your store’s Shopify subscription plan. With that being said, here are a few workarounds:

Use a third-party app: There are many apps available in the Shopify App Store that can generate sales reports by state. Some of these apps are free, while others require a monthly subscription.

Export data to Excel: You can export your sales data into a CSV file and import it into Excel, where you can sort and filter by state manually. This method may be time-consuming but does not require any programming knowledge.

I just installed the free version of Report Toaster app and get a message that I can’t run a sales report that includes taxes.
We are required to file a quarterly sales and tax report in Washington State. We are a very small business and shopify already takes a good chunk of our revenue, I need a free app that will generate these reports. I was able to do that with the 3D cart system, I pay more for Shopify so having the ability to run a simple report that shows sales by tax code in Washington state should be a very basic function.
