Sales Tax included in Prices for Pop-Up Shop

Topic summary

A user is seeking a way to display tax-inclusive pricing specifically for weekend pop-up shops using Shopify POS, while keeping online prices separate.

Goal: Simplify cash transactions by avoiding loose change. For example, a $5 item would remain $5 at checkout (with tax already included), rather than becoming $5.35 after tax is added.

Key requirement: The POS receipt should still break out and display the tax amount that was included in the price, maintaining proper tax reporting.

Current status: The user found a similar unanswered question in previous discussions and is asking if this functionality is possible with Shopify POS. No responses or solutions have been provided yet.

I was reading through the Shopify discussions and found someone who had asked this but I did not see a reply to the person who was asking. Here’s an idea of what I am looking for:

For weekend pop-up shops, whether it’s for the whole weekend or for a day, is it possible for prices to include taxes for POS vs. Online. This is mainly so I have to deal with bills instead of loose change. For example, if I have an item for sale at $5 and I receive a $10, their change would be $5. However, when including tax with loose change, say the item is now $5.35, with tax, and they give me a $10, their change would be $4.65. It would be nice for this to happen for POS and in the receipt for it to still show the taxes that was included in the price.

I hope this gives the idea of what I’m looking for. Not sure if it is doable with Shopify POS but figured I’d ask.
