Same Wrong Customer Added to POS Orders Many Times

We had a customer reach out saying that their POS receipt had some random guy listed as the customer at the bottom. We initially figured that the cashier accidentally selected that customer somehow. However, there is no similarity in the phone number or email to make that seem logical. Also, this customer supposedly has 25 orders over the past 6 months! We have some loyal customers, but that’s a lot! My hunch is some sort of bug is adding this same customer to the order over and over again. Anyone experience this??

Hi @Lawson_Thalmann ,

That does sound very odd if I’m being honest and there hasn’t been any reports of this being an issue. With that in mind, I feel like it will need one our advisors to take a closer look into this for you to see what exactly might be causing this. Because we can’t check account specifics via the Community this would be the best next step. You can log in, to speak to someone on our support team here. I wish I could help you more here, but without looking deeper, it’s hard to know what’s happening.

Thanks @Nick . I am speaking with someone from support already. I was just seeing if I wasn’t the only one.

Did you get a resolution to this? We have 7 locations and they all experience something like this periodically. When they try to add a customer to the cart, it pulls in the last customer that placed an order. No matter what they try they can’t get rid of it or put in a new customer. Usually closing the app and re-opening will fix it, but sometimes they actually reboot the iPad to clear it. This is so unacceptable. We thought maybe an update would fix it, but we have been through a couple and it is still happening.

I have not. I haven’t heard of it happening recently, but that doesn’t mean anything was fixed - just that no one has noticed it.

I just had this problem at my POS, it seemed to stop when we force rebooted the app. Got a complaint yesterday from a lady who thought she’d been charged too much, but really she just had gotten another customer’s receipt. Not good.
