I am here due to a problem I have been facing while editing my online store. I am new to Shopify so I am unfamiliar with certain controls so I am asking for a solution to fix the save button not working.

Could you let me know where you are seeing this save button? You mentioned that you’re seeing it while editing your online store - are you perhaps referring to the one seen on the theme editor?:
That button is greyed out and not clickable until you have made a change on the store that needs saving. Could you tell me what it is that you’re trying to change when you find that you can’t save?
If you are making changes and it’s still not working, - could you test this out on a different browser? I would recommend using the Google Chrome browser as it is the optimal choice for working with Shopify - and if you are using Chrome already, try to clear the cache and cookies by following these steps here and check if the save works for you now.

Thanks Lana for the assistance. In my shopify store, when I attempt to change the header to become my logo, the header doesn’t change and it won’t let me save (save button stays green).

Did you get the chance to test it on a different browser or clear the cache and cookies like I mentioned? If you’re not seeing any error come up as you’re trying to save it, it is likely that this could indeed be a cache issue.

I have been having this problem for months now. I’m on a Mac and automatically everything is utilized in Safari so I do not want to switch over to chrome is there no way around this? I am currently in the middle of adding a new product and cannot save my work so I don’t know what to do.

I totally understand that switching the browser would not be convenient for you, and while Chrome is the optimal browser for working with Shopify, there are a few steps you can take to try and troubleshoot this issue on Safari.
First, could you try to clear the cache and cookies on your Safari browser using these steps here, then try to save it again.
If this doesn’t work, check that your Mac is up to date by following these steps, and update your device if it is pending. Sometimes when your device is out of date, your browsers may fail to update also, resulting in the kind of issues that you’re experiencing with your saves.
Let me know how you get on and if you’re seeing something different, be sure to share a screenshot here as well!
I am having the same issues and I have cleared all the cookies and cache. What is the next option. I am using google chrome as well and I have the most up to date.

I am having the same issue today on Chrome on a Mac. Extremely frustrating.
I am having the exact same issue. I am trying to select an uploaded logo image and I can check the box on the image to select it, and then the “done” button lights up green for about 1 second and then changes back to grey , unchecks, and won’t let me select the image. I’m using google chrome and I know that the image meets the format and pixel size requirements.
