this is a recurring bug in admin. Each time I create a collection, enter some text and try to save, the save button doesn’t save the page and just refreshes to an unsaved state, losing all the work.
Topic summary
Main issue: In Shopify Admin, saving new collections (and reportedly product pages) intermittently fails. Clicking “Save” refreshes the page without persisting changes, causing lost work.
Current reports: Multiple merchants confirm the behavior, including a same-day occurrence. Screenshots are attached showing the save action not holding changes.
Support interaction: One poster says Shopify support attributed the issue to the store’s theme and declined escalation. The poster disputes this (since the failure occurs in Admin) and offers to share the support transcript.
Pattern/impact: Described as a recurring bug that appears and disappears over time. It blocks merchants from creating or updating collections and risks data loss.
Status: No fix or workaround shared. No confirmed root cause; whether themes influence the Admin save behavior remains unresolved.
Open items:
- Confirmation of root cause (theme vs. platform bug)
- Any reproducible conditions or logs
- Temporary mitigation to prevent data loss
Outcome: Discussion remains open with multiple affected users and no resolution yet.
another unhelpful response from shopify. they’re blaming the theme on the admin pages not working and refusing to escalate the issue. My business is blocked from being able to save collections and Shopify passes the buck once again. happy to post the transcript from Shopify support for those having similar issues.
did you find any solution to this? i’m having the same problem
no, it’s a reoccurring problem that pops up and goes away back and forth ![]()
