Hello,
I’m making this post to solicit answers to my questions.
At the end of January, I placed 2 orders for makeup products on what I thought was an e-commerce called SKYHIGHMAKEUP which advertised its makeup products on the Facebook Marketplace.
Still not delivered to date Wednesday, February 9, 2022, exactly as I did the day after my orders to check that the orders had been taken into account and were being prepared, I click again on these same links respectively received by sms with the difference that this time it does not bring me back to my makeup orders but to a weird page (marked shopify at the top and skyhighmakeup.com at the bottom) indicating that there is one step left for the creation of a domain name or whatever. I immediately understand that I have just been scammed, the two links that I received for the two orders no longer refer at all to the products that I ordered, therefore to my past orders, but on it seems that this e-commerce and other hosting platform called SHOPIFY.
The scammers having defrauded enough people I think have apparently quickly closed the e-commerce they used for their theft.
In this regard, I therefore have several questions: I would like to know on the one hand if I am the only one to have been scammed by this e-commerce which seems to have been deleted more than very quickly by their scammers?
On my bank account, the online payment was actually made to a company or person who apparently calls himself RASOIRPRO. I search the internet, can’t find a company or anything by that name either. Does anyone know or can tell me about this Rasoirpro company or anyone? Has anyone of you here or of your acquaintances, like me, been the subject of this same scam by this same pseudo e-commerce box?
Does the Shopify host verify the data of people who supposedly created e-commerce or whatever via their platform?
Do they check the identity of the people, the countries from which the e-commerces made on their hosting site are created?
Do they check AFTER CREATION the real existence of e-commerce or other created on their hosting site?
Is Shopify aware that they are hosting scammers?
Who is responsible in this case for the scams made?
Thank you very much for your answers.
PS: I send this almost the same message to Shopify’s customer contact, hoping to get answers about the scam I am a victim of and which is organized via their platform.
