Seach Icon in Shopify Dawn : size correction

Hi everyone, I would be extremely helpful for your help.

Whilst checking out the THEME SETTINGS, I ticked something or other that turned my search icon [up until then completely fine and on top right-hand corner of the homepage] into a huge one that is displayed on the left of the header. I know that the setting that changed it is somewhere within THEME SETTINGS, as I was trying to solve another problem whilst checking, and unchecking, boxes.

Can someone please help me here? I am getting desperate and chat is useless.

Thank you.

Hi @Stephanella

Can you provide your website so we have an idea on your issue?

Hi, thanks for responding!

The site is www.casasaffron.co.uk

@made4Uo I note that I have now removed the icon completely. I am on chat with support and I am beyond desperate honestly. The suggestion was to remove the search icon completely. But now that I have done that, as you can see, the logo is on the left, yet the settings for the logo are “middle centre”. I don’t know how to correct this.

Hi @Stephanella

Sorry, but I cannot replicate the issue. Perhaps it is an unpublished theme?

@made4Uo please try again. That was an attempt at publishing a new version of my existing theme. If you look now, you will see my website as it should be, except my logo is on the left hand side and the cart does not show.

Hello there,
It seems that you have css code removed from the base.css file.
On your website when i added back the original css code from base.css all looks fine

Check the image below.

If you want to add back the original css code from dawn you can do it from here
base.css
Remember if you have done custom changes on your css file they will be removed

@shqipdonselmani you are right, that is what it should look like! Can you please help me to do that? I do not know how to add back the original css. I know where the file is but… what do I do when I get there?

EDITED TO ADD: sorry if I sound really desperate, I am, haha! I was on support chat for 2.5 hours to absolutely no avail. They cannot answer any question [note that the original problem was “how do I remove the two arrows in the scrolling announcement banner?”, which remains unsolved of course] and now I have a broken header they cannot fix. I am a bit shocked to be honest. Clearly, it isn’t hard if you know what to check and where.
