Just putting our first shopify store together and come across an issue for us. Our target market is parents of and students at secondary schools. There are approx. 4000 schools. We had hoped to have a collection for each school, and allow customers to search for their school in collections. However, we can’t get shopify search and filter app to work with collections, just products within collections. Is this because it just can’t be done or are we missing the solution? Any thoughts helpful - thanks!

You can add school tags to the products and create collections for each school. Then, create a separate page with list of all schools you have (collections where handle has “school” in it or something like that) and just use it as a search page. Like, “View Schools” page or something like that. And allow in there search by title. Make it easier by putting them in alphabetical order.
