It seems not. However, I can find customers in our store using the City or Street (e.g. Brighton, Southampton, Chichester, Church Lane, Mill Road etc). You can also combine that with a Surname to narrow down the seach - for example “Smith Brighton”. Might that work?
Topic summary
Main issue: Shopify POS (Point of Sale) does not allow customer lookup by UK postcode. Current search fields are surname or email, which is difficult with common surnames and many imported records lacking emails.
Workarounds: Some success searching by City or Street and combining with a surname (e.g., “Smith Brighton”), but this is impractical when only a postcode is known.
Feedback and use cases: Merchants report a significant share of phone orders from older customers who may not have email; phone numbers can be unreliable due to multiple numbers (mobile and landline). Postcode is often the simplest, near-unique identifier for quick lookup.
Counterpoint: One participant suggested using email or phone; others stressed the need for postcode search regardless.
New development: A UK developer offered to build a public POS app to enable postcode-based search. At least one merchant expressed interest in pursuing this.
Status: No official Shopify feature or timeline mentioned. Discussion remains open, with a potential third‑party app as the next step.
