If I remember correctly, once upon a time you could go in to a shipping profile and select products, and you would see a list of the products on that profile. Now the UI shows a checklist of ALL products with the ones in that particular profile checked.
So if I want to see which products are in a particular profile, I literally have to scroll through every product and look for checkmarks. There is no way, as far as I can tell, to filter out only the ones that are already checked.
This is ridiculous. Please, someone tell me I’m wrong and there is a way to see which products are in a shipping profile. We have free shipping over a certain dollar amount, but a small group of products are not eligible (and thus have their own shipping profile). How can I check which products are in that profile?
Additionally: Why can’t the shipping section on the product page show which shipping profile a product is in? Or, even better, allow you to assign the profile from that page?
Yes I see that. Shopify are acting weird lately with crazy ui changes that don’t make any sense. One thing you could do, if only temporary, is have Sidekick generate an app that allows you to see which products are in which profile, have custom views or filters. Since the app builder is strictly admin, I don’t see any reason it couldn’t do that. I think you’d even be able to reassign profiles within the app.
Software developers have competent programmers, but I feel like they rarely have anyone advising who actually uses the software on a day-to-day basis. A competent beta team made of actual users would help catch things like this.
yeah I don’t know what would help them. They do sometimes do things right. Like just today they moved Marketing→Automations to Messaging→Automations, which is good, don’t know why it wasn’t there in the first place. I still find the Flow top-down workflow direction in the canvas to be complete nonsense. I didn’t even know about the shipping profile thing, that’s just straight up crazy..
Just ran into this today. This is insanity. I have 200k products and no easy way to tell which products are in which profile. Scrolling through 200k products is insanity.
