Seeking Advice on creating a Build Your Own Box Subscription

Hey all -

I’m looking to incorporate a build-your-own-box subscription bundle on my site, where customers can select 4 jars, 6 jars, or 8 jars of our product and then subscribe for monthly ship at a discount. I’m wanting to include monthly swag, flavors we’re testing, etc… to subscriber orders as well and am struggling with finding a solution to do this on my site. I’m looking for something similar to this:

Oats Overnight

Magic Spoon

I’ve looked at Recharge, Skio, Loop, Bold Subscription, etc… and am wanting to have a more custom approach with selected items moving to a preview panel on the right like the two sites above. Can anyone recommend a frame of reference for how they were able to tweak the app code to give it the custom appearance? I’ve created a test page to play with code on my site (https://udderlynuts.com/pages/custom-bundle) but I’m not sure how to tie a subscription feature, customer portal, etc… to it if done that way. Recharge and Skio are $499 a month and I want to make sure I can reach the custom setup I’m looking for before spilling that kind of money. Just looking for guidance on where to start.

Thank you,

Stephen

Hi @StephenM88

I haven’t seen anyone reply to you yet, so I just wanted to jump in :hugs: I’d recommend using Easify Box Builder.
It lets you create a build-your-own-box experience that works perfectly with subscription setups. The app is highly customizable — you can easily tweak layouts, add steps, and design the preview panel just the way you want using a simple drag-and-drop editor.

Super easy to set up, flexible for any style you’re going for and it’s totally free now! Here’s how it works:

  • This is the result:

  • This is the app setting:

First, you’ll need to set a box name and choose a box type. In this demo, I used Predefined Box Sizes to ensure customers can pick 4, 6, or 8 products at a fixed price that’s set in advance.

Then, you’ll be taken to the Visual Editor, where you can assign products to your box and customize the entire look and layout just the way you want.

Then, to set the price, go to Discount & Subscription tab, select “Edit option” to set price rule

Next, to turn on the subscription feature, scroll down to the Subscription section, switch the status to Enable, and select your plan.
(It will automatically pull the subscription plans from your connected external app.)

And you can customize every part of your product page within the app — from layout and quick view to typography, custom code, and more.

I hope this answer helps solve your problem!
