  • Condense announcement bar to single line
  • Improve font readability for body text

  • Add product videos to gallery for more engaging presentation
  • Display customer reviews from previous sales or product testers

Status: Owner has accepted feedback and is implementing the suggested improvements.

Before I begin promoting my website, I would like to get some feedback on improvements that can be made to make it more appealing to customers. One of the areas that I know needs improvement is the oversized image banner on my home page when it is in desktop mode. Can anyone advise how I can keep the width the same but reduce the height? Also, should I add an “About Us” page? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there! Here’s some constructive design feedback and answers to your questions:

1. Homepage Banner

Yes, the image banner is definitely oversized — especially in desktop view, where it takes up more than the full screen height. This can make users scroll unnecessarily before seeing your actual content.

I’d suggest reducing the height while keeping the width full-screen. This keeps the focus on your main message above the fold (i.e., without scrolling).

I would personnally go with something like that (might require to rework your image to fit the new style) :

Pros: Directly display you main message in the viewport.

If you’re using the Dawn theme: There’s a built-in setting in the Image Banner section that lets you adjust the height (e.g., “Small,” “Medium,” “Large”). This is the easiest way to manage the height without touching code.

Note: This setting will directly affects the height of your banner (whille keeping full width).

If you’re not using Dawn: You can achieve the same effect with CSS for both desktop + mobile (eg: max-height, object-fit, object-position)

2. Announcement Bar

Currently using two lines, which eats up valuable vertical space.

3. Font Choice

Typography is subjective, but some of the fonts on your site are a bit hard to read. Consider using clearer typefaces for body text to improve readability.

4. “About Us” Page

Yes — definitely recommended. It helps build trust with first-time visitors and tells your brand story. Even a short one adds personality and credibility.

Keep up the great work!

Hello there @MuggedByBritt let me start by saying your product concept and title absolutely rocks! For suggestions, I’d start by saying that in line with the fun and playful tone you’ve set you should maybe include a short video in the gallery involving your mugs to make them look even more appealing!

Like you asked, an About Us page would definitely be helpful as well and I would further recommend a FAQ page as well.
Lastly you should include some customer reviews if you’ve had any previous sales or even from product testers.
