Selecting specific products for discount codes

Is there a way to select an entire collection, EXCEPT for a select few products within it, to make a discount code applicable to? So far, the only option to work around this is to either remove said products from the collection or to specifically select each product you wish to apply the discount to instead. Is there a workaround for this? Such as using tags for example?

As a suggestion, there should at least be an option to choose a collection> click “Select all”> and then allow us to deselect the few instead. Or at least allow the products to be displayed in orders such as “Created newest first” instead of the default alphabetical.

That’s a great question. There is a workaround to do this using tags and collections. I’ve outlined the steps to do this below:

  1. Tag products to be excluded from the discounts

  2. Create a new collection with products from the collection you want to offer discounts

  3. Use the “does not contain” feature and select the product tag

  4. Create the discounts for that collection.

It will then only work on the said collection minus the tagged products not to be discounted.
