We’ve flagged this issue with support now for a few months with no resolution. We have about 30% of our business are B2B companies that shop in our brick and mortar and we need Shopify to bring a solution to select and sell to humans tied to companies, in POS.
Hi @IPP_Canada ,
For this you need a Wholesale registration that creates the customer as a company.
Is there any reason you aren’t able to use default customer accounts?
We do have that, Enterprise level Shopify Plus. I don’t think you’re understanding the limitation of Shopify POS. It does not have a B2B integration to even see Companies in POS.
This is why I’m looking for proven solutions from those that have solved it.
Hi @IPP_Canada ,
What could work is have a company record cloned as a customer record. Then at the POS it should be easy to search and take payment as the “company”. I don’t think further customization would be required unless you want a POS tile specific for B2B shoppers.
Good Luck!
Thanks. That would work simply for processing a same but it would not properly use the B2B Wholesale system, including catalogue price list, tax rules, NET30 invoicing, etc.
We’ve had a few merchants request this as well.
Much like creating a draft order allows to select s customer and whether it’s a personal or B2B order for the company connected to the customer, POS should behave the same (or just let the user select the company immediately without first having to select the customer).
Assuming the customer was synced correctly, a POS app can fetch company records.
Can you provide more detail on what you are suggesting? I am asking for serious, and proven solutions to a real limitation of this platform.
You seem to be speaking in vague references.
Do you have a solution or are you speculating?
Hi @IPP_Canada ,
Yeah so you’ll use a private app to sync catalogs and price lists to customer metafields. The POS app would fetch and apply the right prices to the cart.
I’m actually surprised Shopify hasn’t considered this for cash and carry stores.
I currently have a Plus client that I’m customizing their POS. So I know what I’m talking about. For consulting on a solution you can email me at admin@achieveapplabs.com
He’s probably referring to use of discount functions API to provide custom pricing logic using data synchronized to customer metafields.

However, this will still place the order on a customer and not a company location. A hack, if anything. I would be cautious on the amount of data the function would need to load to achieve this on enterprise clients given function limits.
Correct. zit also do not make use or access the catalogue price list function, as the company the account is tied to; is not part of the equation.
@evaldas_92 Who said anything about discount function. You can set price on the line item: https://shopify.dev/docs/api/pos-ui-extensions/2024-10/apis/cart-api
OP is looking for a solution not reasons why something can’t be done.
I agree, this is a major gap. We were sold a seamless POS/Web customer experience but this aspect is not. We have both actual B2B customer and walk in customers that are companies and need the functionality of having a company - multiple contacts, payment terms etc. The idea of just setting them up as a regular customer type is not workable.
