A substantial amount of our business is via bespoke work, thus, a lot of our orders are created internally and invoices sent via the Shopify ‘Send Invoice’ functionality. This works well for us, no qualms to that extent.
We have a growing number of ‘From’ email addresses we can send from. This, of course, wouldn’t be an issue as the team is growing, thus, their email addresses are added to the ‘from’ email send list (based on the employee being added as a user in Shopify).
However, Shopify is also adding randoms that are NOT Shopify admins/users. From what I can tell, many of these email addresses are connected to, perhaps, people that have been added as contributors in the past. Note; the past. i.e., the email address is no longer associated with anyone that has access to our Shopify admin. How do we delete them?
I’ve previously asked this question privately via the Shopify support team but to no avail. Answer:
"I've already received an update from the Technical Team regarding removing the email redacted@emailaddress.biz from your sender's list.
They mentioned that, currently, deleting an email in the sender's list is something that is not yet available within the admin and internally.
Because of this limitation, I see how this feedback will positively impact merchants alike in the future.
Hence, I submitted your feedback to our developers so that our team is aware that this feature is might be ideal for all users.
While I can't make any guarantees, the more feedback our developers get, the more likely we are to see changes in future platform updates.
In the event that this gets released in the future, announcements will be posted on the [Shopify News Page](https://news.shopify.com/). "
Understandably, one of my colleagues raised this question with me again today as the list is getting large, and more importantly, accidents could happen where we could send an invoice via one of these third-party email addresses.
It’s only a matter of time until one of my colleagues accidentally sends via a third-party email address, and if they’ve checked the box for receiving a copy of the invoice, we’d then inadvertently share private data with some randomer.
When will Shopify address this? Random third-party email addresses shouldn’t even be in the ‘From’ address list, but all I’m asking for is the simple ability to have email addresses deleted. And, from a backend user perspective, not great when there’s a growing list of duff email addresses that my colleagues need to scroll through, to get to their email addresses:
