I have my sender email set and verified but it still says: Recipients will see your email as store .....@shopifyemail.com. For better brand recognition, use an email with a custom domain.
Why is this happening? Can’t I use a …@gmail.com type email?

Hi @Fusoir
You’ve already verified your sender email, but Shopify is still showing the @shopifyemail.com address instead of your actual email. Here’s why this is happening and how to fix it.
Even though you’ve set up and verified your sender email, Shopify uses @shopifyemail.com as a default when you’re sending emails via Shopify Email. This happens due to email authentication and domain security policies.
If you’re using a free email provider like Gmail, Yahoo, or Outlook, these services have DMARC (Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting, and Conformance) policies that can block emails sent on your behalf. Shopify avoids deliverability issues by sending emails from their own domain instead.
Technically, yes—you can set a Gmail, Yahoo, or Outlook email as your sender email. However, Shopify will still send emails from @shopifyemail.com to prevent your emails from getting flagged as spam or rejected.
If you want emails to appear as coming directly from your brand’s email, you need to use a custom domain email (e.g., yourname@yourstore.com) and authenticate it properly.
Once this is done, Shopify will stop using @shopifyemail.com, and your emails will show as coming directly from your brand.
I know this is an annoying extra step, but it really helps protect your emails from being marked as spam or undelivered. Hope this helps!
If you need any other assistance, I am willing to help.
Best regards,
Daisy.
