I’d recommend checking out the recent SEO Beginner Tutorial that we recently published on the Learn With Shopify YouTube channel. LearningSEO.io is really helpful too and has free learning resources.
I’d recommend using Google Search Console to measure organic traffic, but Shopify Analytics can help you track revenue earned from organic search.

Hm - I don’t think so. I don’t really know what you mean by “do SEO” though. Just about everything you need to do to execute an SEO strategy is doable directly within the Shopify Admin.

Kyle, does Shopify have any ‘best’ or ‘recommended’ 3rd party apps when it comes to crawling a Shopify site and suggesting improvements with SEO? Many on the page show that the 3rd party apps are paid ads. It would be helpful to know which 3rd party vendors are preferred in the eyes of Shopify.
We typically do not recommend specific apps, but you see which apps are more popular by review count and review score. That’s a good place to start. Most offer a free trial so you can see if it’s right for you or not.
But generally speaking, to be honest, if you don’t have an SEO strategy, an App will not be very helpful for you. You can complete an SEO checklist and have your store be “technically correct” but still not earn any sales.
