SEO Question: Does Google know the age of my blog posts if the dates are not displayed?

I’m working through some content about the Yandex Hack and possible implications for Google SEO. Arrived at this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MoX2F3AUlgI

They talk about “old age” or “no data about age” of content as being a negative factor.

My question: If I choose to not display a date on my blog posts - is there still meta-data available for the age of these blog posts? So can Google find out when a blog post was published?

Thanks in advance!

Hi @theithei

This is Kate from PageFly - Landing page builder, I’d like to suggest this idea:

Yes, even if you choose not to display the date of publication on your blog posts, the information can still be available in the form of meta-data such as the time stamp when the page was created or last modified. Additionally, the date could also be visible in the page source code, the URL structure, or the archive records. It’s important to note that Google uses various signals, including but not limited to, the date of publication, to understand the relevance and freshness of a web page.

Hope my answer will help you
