Whats the reason for this? We not even selling there.
Hi @noah_essentis ,
The website is public, so it can be accessed globally. These sessions could be from individuals who found the site via search engines or external links. Additionally, many users today browse using VPNs, which can make their location appear as data center hubs like Forest City, Ashburn, or Prineville.
This is normal for public websites, and such traffic doesn’t necessarily indicate activity from target audience.
If you find this information useful, a Like would be greatly appreciated. And if this solves the problem, please Mark it as Solution!
Best Regards,
Makka
Hey there @noah_essentis if you believe that the traffic from there is fishy or inorganic, I suggest you try out some location blocking apps or maybe try some analytics tools to see if they are bots or something else.
LOL this traffic is from Shopifys own bots. The data centers located in each of these cities Sessions are specifically Shopify doing “Speed Tests and Monitoring” according to Shopify Support themselves, who I received this information from yesterday. Nothing like the platform messing up metrics/conversions for EVERYONE. The data center traffic from Shopify for this has accounted to nearly 15% of my Sessions YTD. When asked to block from my local Admin all of these “Speed Tests and Monitoring” bots - I was told it is not possible due to the volume of IP addresses. So I just block those cities entirely in my reporting to provide a clearer understanding of the purchasing funnel.
