It’s baffling to me that the default view of the Orders page is “All.” Why would I always need to see fulfilled orders that have been archived? They’re done and gone, my only concern is seeing unfulfilled orders, so is there a way to set the default view of the Orders page to only show unfullfiled orders? I know there is a filter option at the top, but I’d rather not have to click this every time.
Topic summary
Shopify’s Orders page defaults to showing “All” orders, including archived and fulfilled ones, with no built-in option to change this default view. This frustrates users who primarily need to monitor unfulfilled orders.
Proposed Workaround:
- Apply the “Unfulfilled” filter manually
- Bookmark the filtered URL in your browser
- Use the bookmarked link as your primary orders page entry point
This creates a one-click solution that bypasses the default “All” view, though multiple users acknowledge this is a suboptimal workaround for a feature that should exist natively. The discussion remains unresolved as Shopify has not implemented user-configurable default views for the Orders page.
Shopify doesn’t let you change the default Orders view, so it always loads “All,” which isn’t super helpful if you only care about unfulfilled ones. Filters are there, but like you said, it’s annoying to have to click them every time. One easy workaround is to apply the “Unfulfilled” filter, then just bookmark that filtered URL in your browser. That way, you can skip straight to the view you actually want without the extra clicks. Not ideal, but it’s a decent fix until Shopify gives us more control over defaults.
So lousy this much wanted feature is still missing ![]()
You can do nothing about the default Orders view in Shopify. But you could create a filtered view for unshipped orders and bookmark that url in your browser. If you use that link as your go-to orders page, then you have a simple one-click solution instead of having to add the filter all over again each time. I hope this helps you.
