Setting up by design using Globo Product Options, Variant

Topic summary

A merchant wants to sell custom designs across multiple product types (t-shirts, sweatshirts, tote bags) with different pricing for each item. They’re exploring how to structure this in Shopify using product options apps.

Initial Setup Question:

  • Uncertain whether to create each product variant separately in Shopify first, then link them through Globo Product Options app
  • Each product type has different pricing that needs to be reflected

Recommended Solutions:

Two approaches suggested using Easify Product Options app:

  1. With inventory tracking: Create separate products for each item type, then link them as options to the Design product
  2. Without inventory tracking: Create options directly within the Design product with different pricing

Key Features Highlighted:

  • Image swatches for product selection
  • Dynamic product image switching based on selected option
  • Option URLs feature (newer update) - allows cross-product linking for items sharing the same design, potentially better suited for this use case

Current Status:
Merchant is evaluating the app. A follow-up question emerged about setting quantity limits (min=1, max=100) for image swatch options, possibly in combination with an order limit app. This remains unanswered.

I have custom designs that I offer that people can put on a variety of products (tshirts, sweatshirts, tote bags, etc)

I’m trying to use the Globo Product Options app to set up where the Designs are the things people see, and when they choose the design within that grouping they can choose the product (tshirt, sweatshirt, tote bags, etc) that they would like to see that design on.

Each product has a different price.

I’m having a hard time figuring out how I have to set this up in Shopify website in order for this to work.

do I have to set up each product (tshirt, sweatshirt, tote bags, etc) on EACH design in Shopify first as products, and then link them somehow to the globo production options app or what?

Hi @DogLoveisGood ,

I’d recommend considering the Easify Product Options app for a more tailored solution to suit your needs. There are various approaches to setting up your products with custom options using this app :hugs: .

  1. For Managing Inventory: If you need to manage inventory for products like t-shirts, sweatshirts, tote bags, etc., you should create them as separate products first. Later, you can link them as options for the Design product.

  2. For Options without Inventory: If you don’t need to manage inventory and simply want to provide options with different pricing for customers to choose from, you can create them directly as options for the Design product.

Here’s a quick guide for the second case (in case you prefer the first approach, please let me know):

  • Create your Design product.
  • Install the app and set up a new option set.
  • Add options for customers to choose from (e.g., t-shirts, sweatshirts, tote bags) using appropriate option types like Image Swatches. The app offers a wide range of 26 option types to choose from. Specify extra prices for each option.

(show prices on hovering)

(always show prices)

  • If you want the main product image to change based on the selected option, select the “Change product image/thumbnail on option selection” checkbox and follow the additional steps in the guide.

  • Lastly, link the options to the “Design” product you created initially, and you’re done.

Thanks for this.

Hi @DogLoveisGood ,

I wanted to update you on a new feature in the Easify Product Options app that might better suit your needs. It’s called Option URLs, and it allows you to create cross-product links among items that share the same design. Below is an example:

  • Storefront:

  • App settings:

I believe this new solution could be more tailored to your requirements compared to my previous suggestion :hugs: . If you’re interested in trying out this new solution, please reach out to the Easify team via the in-app live chat for a setup guide.

Hello , is it possible to set limit for this one option set like min = 1 , max = 100 for image-swatches-1 together with another shopify app like order limit app.
