I’m a little new to this so please forgive my ignorance… 
I’m looking to have the inventory of one product to automatically update depending on the inventory of another.
For example: I have a product that comes in a box that contains 36 packs and i want to offer the items individually as well as having the option to buy the box of 36.
So if i have 1 box of 36 and someone decides to purchase a single pack how would i make it so the option to buy the whole box becomes unavailible? as buying the whole box is no longer an option.

Hi @BnCCollectibleS it isn’t ignorance it’s just not knowing the arbitrary abstractions a piece of software has chosen.
For shopify there is no inventory pooling, or shared skus, or share inventory, etc.
You would need an advanced theme customization, or find an app, to detect when a user has put one or the other in the cart, and also once an item is purchased you will need backend automation to set one or the other or both to be unavailable immediately. And or also some automation to make sure an order never contains both, and or that an order payment isn’t capture if it has an item that should no longer be available.
