I am in process of shifting them to shopify from webflow even though they are a lead gen business and not a ecom store.
they want to shift because they saw some friend using shopify with great LCP / PageSpeed scores.

IMHO:
The worst part of using Shopify in your case is the predetermined URL structure when using it theme-based.
Option
Hydrogen/Oxygen approach will provide URL flexibility, but then you lose all the storefront configuration options which theme-based approch has like theme editor, etc.
But does not make sense to use Shopify at all then…
Some people would say that this is an unacceptable hit to SEO which may be an ok tradeoff for an e-comm business, but not for a lead-generating one.
Thanks, that’s a really good point about Shopify’s URL structure and the tradeoffs of going headless.
This gives me some solid arguments to push back and either keep them on Webflow or move to a custom Astro build instead. For a lead-gen site, I can definitely see how a Shopify migration could create more SEO problems than it solves.
