Shipping Error at Checkout Point

Good Morning,

Has anyone seen this error before and know the solution?

I am entirely at a loss here, and have no idea how to resolve the problem.

I completed the General Profile setup to include shipping to all my 3 markets (UK, EU and International). But when testing a purchase, the above error messages pop up, it doesn’t matter whether shipping to a UK address, an European address or International address.

Something is missing and despite looking around, I still do not understand what’s wrong, sorry.

Hi Cartcrafted,

Thanks for your assistance. Products have location assigned by default to All Locations. Maybe this is wrong. All my products are dropshipping, even though we design the majority of the fabrics.

I only have one shipping profile, the General Profile, not sure how relevant this might be, because we do not handle shipping physically, or directly.

Dear All,

Thank you. I have identified some issues that will need correcting. There are two dropshipping apps which do not have rates. But the products are set to ALL LOCATIONS, I will need to change this to the relevant dropship company and am going to add the same rates as in the General Profile, which should cover most costs.

There is a third dropshipper but has no app. But I want to work with them, as they are one of the most prestigious fabrics producers in London so for this one I might have to create manually something… A profile, I guess? Then do the same rates as for the apps dropshippers.

I will make the changes and report back with an update where we are with this conundrum…

Are the product settings only visible when the product is created initially? Is the “shipping section” that point where it says ALL LOCATIONS?

On existing products, I see this:

I am also not clear about the definition of “VENDOR” in the product pages… Who is the vendor in Shopify definition?

  1. Us, i.e. Artis Officina?
  2. The dropshipper?
  3. The product supplier if different from the dropshipper?

The illustrative example below demonstrates a typical case. Artis Officina produced the design (the pattern if you prefer), the Supplier produces the fabric, in this case 100% natural silk and manufactures the skirt to exact specifications, and dropships direct to the Customer, because we do not hold stock in-house.

Thank you so much again, for your troubles. Shopify is nice but it is a nightmare for someone completely new to the platform.

I reviewed all the settings and now I am not getting any errors.

Not sure what happened to the replies I had on this thread (they disappeared) but I needed to created extra profiles and complete the zones, as well as review all the products.

Thank you all.
