Shipping logic

Topic summary

Request to set tiered shipping in Chile by item quantity: 1–2 units = 4000; 3–4 units = 6000.

Key finding: Native Shopify shipping settings do not support quantity-based shipping rates. They allow rules based on order weight or price, not item count. A linked community thread corroborates this limitation.

Suggested workaround: Use a third-party shipping app that supports quantity-tiered rates (example mentioned: Calcurates).

Status/outcome: No native solution available. The practical path is implementing an external app to achieve the desired tiers. No confirmation from the requester on next steps, so the discussion remains open without a built-in resolution.

Hi everyone,

I want to modify my shipping costs. Is it possible to do the following? I have a product for which I want the shipping cost to be 4000 in Chile if they buy 1 or 2 units, and if they buy between 3 and 4, I want the cost to be 6000. Can a tiered logic like this be created, or is it not possible?

Thanks to everyone.

hi @Gustavo98 I think I might have found a similar question in the community and unfortunately, native Shopify shipping does not allow you to set up quantity-based shipping costs. It offers weight and price-based shipping costs as mentioned in this community thread: https://community.shopify.com/post/692869

@Gustavo98 I can confirm that unfortunately Shopify default shipping settings don’t allow to set quantity-based shipping rates. Consider using a 3rd party shipping app such as Calcurates that has this flexibility.
