Issue: Some mug products don’t display their assigned shipping profile on product pages, and at least one order used a generic “flat rate shipping cost” instead of the intended EU profile.
Context: The General profile has no products; all items were added to a custom “EU shipping” profile. The merchant has 160 shipping rates configured across many mug combinations.
Guidance offered:
A product can belong to only one shipping profile; verify it isn’t duplicated elsewhere.
Consider moving EU settings into the General profile. However, Shopify doesn’t support exporting/importing shipping rules, so rates must be recreated manually.
Suggested path: delete the custom profile to auto-move all products to General, then reconfigure rates there to avoid future confusion.
Possible cause flagged: if items were converted from simple to variants, caching/display issues might occur; contact Shopify Support to confirm.
Merchant response: Products are all simple (no variants); recreating 160 rates is not feasible. The proposed workaround isn’t acceptable.
Status: Unresolved. Merchant requests an official Shopify-supported solution. Screenshots of the product admin and shipping profile lists are attached.
How come some mugs don’t show the shipping profile? On each product page there is not mention of the shipping profile.
How do I add that profile to the products that seem to have none? An order mentioned “flat rate shipping cost”.
I added all products to that shipping profile (EU shipping).
Thank you for your feedback. My general profile has no products hence my question. All are in the EU shipping profile. What am I doing wrong?
Is there possibility to set EU shipping as the general profile?

Shopify does not provide an option to export rules, so the rules must be manually configured again in a generic profile.
I recommend that you delete the custom profile. This action will automatically move all products to the General Profile, where you can reconfigure the shipping options. Although this process may take some time, it is the best solution to avoid any confusion in the long run.
Additionally, it appears that the products in the EU shipping category, specifically mugs, are variable products. It’s possible that these were initially created as Simple Products and then converted to Variations. This could have led to some caching or product display issues. I suggest checking with Shopify support to confirm this.
