Please help!
All my products have customisable options so every order will be different.
My issue is, as these customisable options are embedded through an app (custom Price Calculator) on shopify, it creates a new variant under the existing product every time. This new variant does not get assigned to where the existing product is in the shipping profile, but goes automatically to general shipping, which is an issue as I need to have different shipping rates for different products.
Hello @GS-Web-Design
If you consider using apps, we can help you setup the shipping rates for the dynamic variants using our app JsRates (https://apps.shopify.com/jsrates-shipping-rates). We can access the options created with “Custom Price Calculator” - we can use the options to generate custom shipping rates (or use your existing shipping profiles). You will need carrier-calculated shipping (CSS) activated on your store to use this. CSS is available in higher Shopify plans - see here for more info: Shopify Help Center | Third-party carrier shipping
If you are keen, install the app and reach out support via “Contact support” in the app. The app a free demo plan for testing. We will help you with the setup.
Hi @GS-Web-Design ,
Instead of using multiple shipping profiles for individual shipping rates you may consider a different approach and group your products by SKUs, collections or even a metafield on the product or variant level. This can be achieved with the Calcurates app (requires CSS). The free initial app setup made by our team is included into the subscription plan (free 15-day trial is available).
