Hello!
I have a problem regarding shipping cost.
When an order is over €50,- Shipping is free unless the weight of the order exceeds a certain weight.
The problem is, when both occur at the same time, the customer gets a choice at the checkout for the free shipping or the paid shipping.
Weight cost should overrule the free shipping, so it should not be optional.
Is there a way for me to stop this from happening?
So this is a limitation of Shopify shipping I believe. You cannot have 2 conditions together in Shopify for creating rates.
Even if you use same name for the rates, the rates will just add up. So instead of seeing Free Shipping, the customer will see €30.
You will have to use a third party shipping rate app like ShipMagic. However, please be informed that you need CCS enabled on your store for any shipping rate app including ours to work.
You cannot set up a rule that combines both Weight and Price conditions. Here are some alternative options to make it work with Shopify without using an app:
Adjust your shipping strategy by configuring shipping rates based on either Weight or Price, but not both.
Use the same name for Shipping rules; this ensures that when both rules apply, only the cheapest one will be displayed during checkout. Note that shipping costs may accumulate if the rules are in different shipping profiles.
Create a separate shipping profile specifically for heavy products.
