I’m looking for guidance on the best shipping solutions for my business.
I run a high-ticket dropshipping eCommerce store in Australia, specialising in bathroom products (e.g. bathtubs, vanities, mirrors). All products are shipped from suppliers based in Sydney, and we deliver Australia-wide using a courier broker.
The main challenge I’m facing is accurately calculating shipping costs. Freight varies significantly depending on both the product (e.g. a bathtub vs a mirror) and the delivery location (e.g. Sydney vs Brisbane), and this is currently cutting into our margins.
We have a catalogue of 2,000+ products, so I need a scalable system that can:
- Calculate shipping dynamically based on product size/weight and destination (city/state/postcode)
- Ideally provide customers with a shipping estimate directly on the product page (similar to competitors)
At the moment, I’m unsure of the best way to structure this or what tools/apps I should be using to achieve it.
Could you please advise on the best approach or systems to implement for this type of setup?
