I’m trying to set up shipping for my store, i have gone about setting up the dropshipping so that all happens by me just pushing the orders through on oberlo. However when i tried to make a test purchase the only rate that pops up is the international one. I’m sure it’s an easy fix but I’m stumped. Just want to see what the order process looks like and make sure I receive the correct emails as a “customer”. As they may combine a vintage piece with a drop shipping piece, one being sent by me and the other by oberlo.
Hi @Tobyandco ,
May I know your shipping zones setup? And when using multiple shipping profiles, if orders contain products from different profiles or locations, this will result in combined rates at the checkout and the higher rate is charged.
Hi @Tobyandco ,
You’ve mentioned you’re dropshipping, and that’s great! You’ve also mentioned that you’re using Oberlo, which is useful context to have - thank you.
First off, bear in mind there are two dimensions to dropshipping: there’s what you need to set up within the app so that everything runs smoothly, and there’s what you need to set up on your store for your customers to see.
So while I’m sure you’ve done plenty of setting up of the Oberlo app, it sounds like you may need to set up the shipping rates on your storefront for customers to make a purchase!
If you’re using Oberlo, then you’ll want to ensure that the shipping you’re using is ePacket shipping. If you’re not sure what that is, there’s an informative Shopify Blog called Everything You Need to Know About ePacket Shipping: ePacket Delivery Explained – Shopify.
Once you’ve got ePacket shipping enabled on your Oberlo products, you’ll want to display your shipping rates on your store. Have you set up separate shipping profiles for your Oberlo products vs your vintage products? If not, creating Shipping Profiles is essential in your case because it means that you can charge certain shipping rates for just Oberlo products, and others for just vintage, etc.
It also means, as @Anindita correctly pointed out, that if your customer combines Oberlo and Vintage products at checkout (ie. products from different shipping profiles) that the highest cost shipping rate will be presented to them at checkout.
